Bank was a project within the blocktober 2020. It is a third person stealth mission where the player has robbed a bank and the goal is to escape through a construction site next to the bank without being detected. The level was constructed to offer multiple alternative routes for the player to eventually escape through the sewer system on the other side of the construction site, but the player must be aware of high alert swat enforcers on patrol.

Top-down level design
Within my level I used the colour ‘red’ to signify where the player paths are through red crates and barrels. This idea was generated from research of Mirror's edge (all shown below).
Design Challenges
Iterative Design
Due to my lack of time management I never got to iterate on the level as much as a level should be iterated upon. Rarely is a level good enough the first time its made especially when it comes to blocking out ‘playable’ spaces. This is one thing I need to bring on to my next projects is to try to spend a little time on paper getting something down before diving straight in. Not all plans go to plan but at least a rough idea next time would be a nice start.
Post Production
When starting post production I felt like I spent too much time trying to make it look the part instead of focusing on how to make the level playable with the advanced locomotion system to actually see if the space plays well and the gameplay beats feel nice. This is something I’ve heavily learnt from in this project is to keep my head focused on the low level primary goals and not be steered of course by the high level stuff which comes at the end and wastes precious time.
